The Online Doug Holmes Star Wars Museum
Updated April 30 2010. Well for the first time in 15 years I WILL NOT be attending the San Diego Comic-Con 2010 . Due to an early sell out of the tickets I will have to miss this one ,unfortunately. On this home page I have posted (for now) a picture of Luis Linares and I at the First public screening of the independent documentary "The Last Line" This is a short film about the experience of the last line for "Star Wars The Revenge Of The Sith" by film maker Susan Kai. Luis and I were both included in the films interviews. It was strange to see my face 20 feet tall on the big screen. scary for others I presume. Hopefully this film will be available on dvd sometime in 2010. I will try to update some of the other pages this year so be patient, some cool pictures and stories will be put up soon! Sep 2, 2009. Trinity Heart is Born to Joe and Beth Leuders the 18th of February in Okinawa,Japan! The 2009 San Diego Comic Con was awesome ! Wow time goes by so quickly .As usual I went on Friday ,Star Wars Day. Amber also went with me and brought a couple of friends with her too.Words pale to the actual reality of attending this event. Every year it is bigger and better. Not for someone who does not like crowds. With the G4tv Cable show doing live updates from the convention generating alot of publicity, and it was crowded. Still all in all the funnest day I have had all year! Comics,Movie stars, artists ,costumed attendees, lots of Star Wars related displays. I could go on and on. Worth every cent of the 30 dollar ticket.I even got to see Jeff and Rachael Tucker(And children)there! See you next year at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con! January 1 2009 Happy New Year everybody! Hope you all have a great year. December 12,2008. I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas ! A lot has happened this year. Another Comic-con has come and gone. Both my daughters attended with me and we had lots of fun. We went on Friday, which is traditionally Star Wars Day and free Comic book day. The highlight was a panel on American Dad (animated). We got to see a live reading of a new script by all the original voices It was hilarious! After, was a panel on The Family Guy. Very enjoyable We came home with the usual huge bag of free stuff. See you at Comic-con 2009! May 22,2008 . INDIANA JONES AND THE CRYSTAL SKULL OPENS! Again the regulars line up at THE BIG NEWPORT for another great 12:01am movie opening. Thanks to Luis Linares who made the whole thing happen. The front of the theater was all decked out in Indy stuff with people in costume all over. There was even people cracking real whips!. Tents with posters decked out with golden idols, plundered loot and even a pilfered lightsabre. Amber Holmes was ther with her friend ,he was nice. Out of one tent pops an Indy imposter who says "HI Doug"!. Its Ralph from the independent film"The Last Line". Once inside the beach balls fly before the curtain opens. Up the theater aisle comes Ralph with a big smile on his face, He invites us down to some great seats he had reserved down front center. THANKS RALPH! It was a great movie and a lot of fun. Make sure you check the last page or two fof this website for more Indiana Jones Pictures and info. See all of you there for "The Clone Wars! Dont forget to attend San Diego Comic- Con July 2008.Its right around the corner ...Ahh .now back to past news...Revenge of the Sith Episode III has opened May 19 2005. First show, opening day and weekend box office records are SHATTERED! Luis Linares again invites me to The Big Newport 12:01am First Show! Hundreds lined up and we were first in line of the non-camper(2 weeeks!)section. Melissa,my daughter comes to keep me company.Well, she wanted to see the movie too! Finally some REAL NICE people sold us 3 tickets! One for my other daughter Amber and 2 for Melissa and her friend. Fun and excitement were in the air. There was a raffle and a costume contest with really nice prizes sponsored by Childrens Hospital of Orange County.Luis wins 2nd with a Chewy costume and his cousin with Wicket the Ewok 3rd place! Another member of our group won a Blastech Stormtrooper Rifle from Master Replicas, the Grand Prize! Quite fitting since he is a Police Officer! Inside the theatre, beach balls are flying and Lightsabres are waving frantically. When the lights went down, they really went crazy! The movie was great,so go see it. San Diego Comic-Con 2005 is soon and Star Wars is going to be there in a big way.Another Star Wars Pavillion with actors, toys, displays and maybe another FULL SIZE ship.So Ill see you in San Diego in July for sure .Be there or miss it all!
This website has been online for over 10 years ! Thank you , FREESERVERS.com.This is a web site devoted to my passion of collecting all things Star Wars. Indiana Jones , Toys, movie posters, autographs and even Star Wars stories are just some of the things you will find here.
My Star Wars collecting began in 1978.
Aspen, Colorado,It was the summer of 1978. I was visiting my brother Dennis, who lived there. One day he said to me and my friend Sam, "Hey, you have to go with me to see this movie tonight! I have already seen it but I want to go again. It's got spaceships , robots and outer space battles. It is really cool!"Well, to tell you the truth, I was skeptical of his claims. The sci-fi movies of the times, (with the notable exception of "2001:A Space Odyssey) were pretty bad. Poor special effects, terrible acting ,I could go on and on. Needless to say, that night, I was blown away! After I returned home, I soon joined the fan club. Thus my collecting of Star Wars began. In my Star Wars related quests, I found one thing consistant. All the people I met who shared my interest, were very nice. Although scaled back, I still collect things to this very day.
So sit back and click away!
A lot of hard work , money, networking ,friends and just plain good luck , have made my collection what it is today. I dont really care about the monetary value of the collection. The important thing are the memories , people and friends I have made along the way.
